Hi. I’m Silvano Coletti, a long-time catalyst of start-ups in clean tech and biotech in Europe and other markets, including North America and Africa. My primary activity is investing in start-ups and guiding many of them as a board member. My specialties are related to:
- Business process and strategy development
- Joint ventures & strategic partnerships
- Fund raising
- Acquisition negotiation & assimilation
- Market analysis, penetration & expansion
I do business under the name of Chelonia SA – the Swiss advisory and investment firm offers value added services and assistance for project development and startups.
I promoted social initiatives for making of capacity building re. my area of interest, locally and globally. My capacity in the social sector comes from relevant experience having worked with Halidou Ouedraogo, founder of Africa’s first popularly based human rights movement and long-time human rights advocate and supporter of an independent judicial system in Africa. Since 2002 until 2002 I was appointed official delegate at the UN headquarter in New York City (2002-2007) on behalf of the pan-african NGO “InterAfrican Union for Human Rights“.
Educated at School of Engineering Polytechnic of Milan and Harvard Business School in Cambridge MA, in mid ’90 with great honor I have been invited from Prof. Ilya Prigogine (1917-2003) – Nobel Laureate – to join his team at Université libre de Bruxelles and International Solvay Institutes in Brussels in order to study dissipative structures and their role in thermodynamics systems far from equilibrium. In 2004 I joined the Prof. Olivier Jolliet team at”Ecole Polytechnic Federale de Lausanne” for some LCA projects mainly related to waste management. Still today continuing and executive education is very important because it disrupt our ordinary ways of doing business, and introduce us to new and unexpected ways of thinking. Always I want to be prepared for the next steps. An advantage point when I’m working for my ventures or clients.
I participate international academic and business associations as well as Swiss Private Equity and Corporate Finance Association. I’m joining MIT Energy Club , a club of students, past-students and affiliates at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Campus.
I collaborate with international newspapers and magazines. Over the years, articles and interviews related to my ventures appeared on newspapers and magazines as well as Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Asahi Shimbun, Corriere della Sera, Il Sole 24 Ore and Bloomberg TV.
